Environmental Education

As part of our commitment to an increased public awareness of ecological issues, partners of Bangalay Botanical Surveys have devised, developed and delivered a range of native plant identification courses, have devised and delivered courses tailored to specific audiences and have delivered units as part of an existing course framework. Examples include:

  • Eucalyptus identification courses run at the Sydney University Centre for Continuing Education and at the Australian Museum;
  • Native plant identification courses run at the Sydney University Centre for Continuing Education and at University of NSW;
  • Community Biodiversity Survey Manual Training Workshops provided to community and CMA agency staff for CMAs;
  • Training in native plant identification for the Rescue and Immediate Care Course for WIRES;
  • Mapping for land management - Certificate IV Bush Regeneration (Southern Sydney Institute of TAFE);
  • Certificate III Arboriculture courses (Southern Sydney Institute of TAFE).

Bangalay Botanical Surveys can design and deliver both general environmental education courses, and courses focussing on specific topics relating to native flora species and vegetation types, tailored to specific audiences. Please contact us with your requirements.

Community Consultation

We fully acknowledge the need to ensure that traditional and ancestral customs, observances and beliefs relating to people, sites and objects are treated with respect and in a confidential manner. We can work 'blindly' with any material or location deemed culturally sensitive, to ensure that the locations of any culturally sensitive sites are treated with respect.
